    • The XX-th Century or Is the Specter Back?

The author of the article is a famous almost classical Russian political scientist who worked in this field long before the political science was officially recognized by the establishment. F. Burlatskiy was a direct witness of the events related to the XX-th CPSU congress, the reaction to it, the train of its consequences.

The author pays high tribute to what N.S.Khrushchev did. However, F. Burlatskiy draws attention to the limited nature of Khrushchev's criticism. Khrushchev still shared Stalin's general policy in collectivization, industrialization and the fight against opposition. According to F. Burlatskiy this was the criticism of the personality and not of the system. In the article a big attention is paid to the characteristics of N. S. Khrushchev and I.V. Stalin and the prospects of overcoming the traditions of Stalinism.
