  The reviewer defines the book as a highly professional and in many ways innovatory research. Formally, the book consists of theoretical, international and Russian sections. However, the Russian problems run like a common thread through all the collection of works. According to S.Pshizova the book is a comparative research focusing on the comparison of modern political processes in Russia and developed countries of the West (and Japan too.)

  The review covers the consistent analysis of the articles of this publication with an emphasis on the work by G.Diligenskiy “Democracy on the threshold of milleniums”. In essence, this article starts the discussion of the main problem of the book, the problem of the promotion of the modern forms of democracy to other sociocultural regions.

  The reviewer notes that the authors of the collective work are far from being united in their approaches and views, which, in her opinion, is a definite merit today when the perceptions of the world should also seriously change.
