  The article covers the analysis of Russian military policy, its goals, the set of principles and ideas, and actions on the implementation of the doctrinal provisions. The authors bring into focus the safeguard of the national military security. The emphasized that the peaceful means of maintaining the national military security can be effective in case they are supported by the military force sufficient for the defense of the state and its vital interests.
